I live in Georgia and have had the Smartstart interlock for some time. I was only supposed to have for six months has now been a year and a half. (Troubles with DMV, my problem) To the people on here that boasts the "Don't drink and drive and conform." FU!!! You can not even have drinks at night with your friends if you have to start vehicle the next day. I am allowed six violations per month. None of those cost me money except the monthly calibrations. It is an entire lifestyle change. I can have two beers blow in the machine and pass. I do it for shits and giggles. However, I can not have six beers in the evening, wake up the next morning and pass. I do not condone drinking and driving as well as others on this thread, but, these machines are meant to change you. IT IS NOT THE GOVERNMENT'S JOB TO DO THAT!!!! The machines are not as high tech as they claim either. My truck was parked for four months and they tried to charge me for taking out machine. The tech had to call them and let them know that the machine was still in my truck. Not trying to be difficult, I did wrong and paid my price.
